Join us at the Golf, Guinness and Oyster Gathering New York, June 27, 2017

This year, Articulate Communications and its clients are fielding teams at the June 27, 2017 Golf, Guinness and Oyster Gathering (GGOG) held at the GlenArbour Golf Club in Bedford Hills, New York. Golf, Guinness and Oysters, you say? You heard right!

The GGOG is a fantastic event that supports The Iveagh Trust, Ireland’s first housing Trust, which serves those in need of affordable housing in Dublin, Ireland. Last year, it provided an estimated 70,000 bed nights and 215,000 hot meals at its Dublin hostel, in addition to the affordable rented housing it provides for families and single-person low income households. The Trust was established by Edward Guinness, 1st Earl of Iveagh, more than 125 years ago, and his Great-Great Grandson, Arthur Edward Guinness, 4th Earl of Iveagh will oversee proceedings in New York this year. Incidentally, as the name suggests, Arthur Edward Guinness’s forefather brewed the first Guinness in 1759.

June 27, 2017 will mark the first time this event has been staged on U.S. soil. There are also tournaments in the UAE and London, U.K. with the World Final being held at the Royal Portush Golf Club, Northern Ireland, on October 5, 2017.

Now, not all of us at Articulate are pro golfers, so only some of us are going to partake in the Irish hospitality and entertainment. We do, however, have some avid golfers in our midst (myself included) and we’re looking forward to reporting back on how we do. Most of all, we’re thankful we can support such a great organization as it works to help those in need.

Please wish our teams well – and look out for news on how we performed after the event. If we win, we will be invited to play at the World Final in Northern Ireland later this year.

If you’d like to field your own team, you can request an invitation by emailing enquiries@ggog.golf. Or you can find details on how to support the trust in other ways on their website.
